A NEW 42.2
The Night Tme loop at the Mighty Totara has been designed for minimum fuss and maximum ease of navigation. Much of the vertical gain of the Day Time course has been ironed out, leaving an eminently achievable marathon on a mix of gravel farm road, single track forest trail and concrete footpath. Take in the stunning soundtrack of the park as the hustle and bustle of the city melts away into the night.
We promise a running experience unlike anything you else and one that focuses as much on what you can hear and what you can smell as what you can see.
Important! Even if your event does not qualify for an allocated spot in Tent City, you can still join in the fun and enjoy the atmosphere. All athletes have full use of the communal rest area - directly opposite the finish line - and there is plenty of space around the outside of Tent City for your friends and family to bring a blanket or camping chairs and setup an impromptu personalised aid station.

Directions | Look out for our directional arrows at all turns and intersections. There are no marshals on course and we reccommend carrying a mobile phone at all times in case you get lost or encounter another issue. |
Overtaking | It's likely you will spend most of the race without many runners in front or attempting to overtake. Nevertheless, please be considerate should this occur on any of the narrower trail sections. |
Pedestrians & Dogs | We anticipate very little other park traffic during your event. |
Toilets | Portaloos at the event base can be accessed at the start and finish of each lap. A well appointed set of modern public toilet block with three enclosed units is available in the picnic area near the park entrance (approx. 2km into the lap). |
Aid Stations | An unmanned refill station - for water only - is situated at the 4km mark (half way around the lap). We will make best efforts to keep this station fully stocked throughout the event but you should not plan your race nutrition around this. Another refill station is available at the end of each lap where you can refill your bottles with water or PURE sport drink. There are no cups provided at this event ... you must bring your own water containers. You can also leave your own personal drinks in the unattended communal rest area directly opposite the Start/Finish line. |
Race Rules | Due to the narrow tracks, we do not allow nordic poles in this event. See our general Competition Rules here. |
